Carbon Dreams: Reflections on Materials Science and the Future of Automotive Engineering
Thanks for visiting my blog! It was inspired by my experience this past summer at the Advanced Engineering Summer Program – Italian Motor Valley Experience at the Motor Vehicle University of Emilia-Romagna (MUNER) in Modena, Italy. As one of the only programs like it in the world for high school students, I came away truly inspired.
It was amazing to be surrounded by like-minded people with a shared passion for the automotive industry, particularly hypercars. Listening to lectures from lead engineers and designers who revolutionized the automotive space was incredible! We also participated in private factory/company tours at Ferrari, Ducati, Dallara and Pugani.
Specifically, my blog focuses on the intersection of material science and advanced technology, particularly in the automotive industry. My entries explore how innovative materials like smart materials, carbon fiber, and solid-state batteries are shaping the future of engineering and design. I worked to put emphasis on high-performance applications, such as supercars and electrification, and wrote about the technical potential and public perception of emerging materials.
Hope you enjoy it!
